Terms Of Service

Honeycomb Home Cleaning Last updated: August 9, 2026

Thank you for choosing Honeycomb Home Cleaning. These Terms explain how booking, billing, scheduling, and service standards work, so that expectations are clear from the start.

The two things most clients want to know are how billing works and what happens if plans change, so those come first. Questions about anything below? Call or text our office at (661) 669-7538.

The Short Version

  • A valid credit or debit card on file is required to book.
  • About 24 hours before your appointment a temporary hold is placed on that card. This is a hold, not a charge.
  • Your service is charged the morning after your cleaning.
  • More than 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule: no charge. Less than 48 hours: 25% of the service rate. Same day, no-show, or lockout: 100%.
  • A few minutes of prep helps. Clear countertops and floors as much as you can and empty the sink before the appointment. Covered surfaces get worked around, and clearing a sink full of dishes may add $25.
  • If your home turns out to be in rougher shape than described, you will be contacted before any work beyond your quote begins. Nothing beyond your quote is charged without your approval.
  • If something was missed, tell us within 24 hours and a return visit to re-clean it will be arranged at no cost.

Full detail on each of these is below.

Required Card on File and Billing

A valid credit or debit card is required on file at the time of booking. By providing it, you authorize Honeycomb Home Cleaning to charge that card for services scheduled, along with any applicable fees described in these Terms.

  • Flat rate pricing. Cleanings are quoted and charged as a flat rate for the scope booked. Billing is not hourly, and the price does not change based on how long the cleaning takes.
  • Payment processing. Billing is handled electronically through a third-party payment processor. Full card details are stored by the processor, not by Honeycomb.
  • Card hold. Approximately 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, a temporary authorization hold is placed on your card for the amount of the booking to confirm funds are available. This is a hold, not a charge. If your appointment is canceled or moved, the hold typically releases within two to five business days depending on your bank.
  • Charge timing. Services are charged the morning following your appointment. Cancellation, reschedule, and skipped-clean fees are also charged the morning following the scheduled service date.
  • Failed holds. If the hold does not go through, we will attempt to reach you by phone, text, or email. We reserve the right to cancel the appointment if a valid payment method is not provided before the scheduled start time.
  • No pay, no clean. A working payment method on file is required for service to be scheduled or performed.
  • Declined cards may incur a $50 service charge.
  • Cash and checks are not accepted.
  • Tips are entirely optional and always go in full to the cleaning professional who performed your service.
  • Please notify us of any change to your card, phone number, or email at least 24 hours before your appointment so holds and charges process correctly.
  • Receipts are emailed to the address on file. It is your responsibility to keep contact details current.
  • Unpaid balances may be subject to collection, and you are responsible for any costs of collection.

Cancellations, Reschedules, and Skipped Cleanings

Plans change, and we try to be reasonable about it. At the same time, a reserved appointment is a slot an independent cleaning professional has committed to and turned down other work for, and short-notice cancellations cannot usually be refilled. The following applies:

Cancellations and reschedules

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: No charge
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice: 25% of the service rate
  • Same-day cancellation, no-show, or lockout: 100% of the service rate

Lockouts. A lockout means the property cannot be accessed at the scheduled time. This includes incorrect or outdated entry information, a code or key that does not work, an unaccompanied gate or building entry that cannot be cleared, or no one available to provide access.

No utilities on site. If there is no running water or electricity at the property on arrival, the cleaning cannot be completed and 100% of the service rate will be charged.

Illness. If someone in the home has a contagious illness, please tell us and reschedule. There is no cancellation or rebooking fee in that situation. Moving the appointment is always preferable.

Skipped recurring cleanings. If a scheduled recurring cleaning is skipped, a 20% fee is added to the next cleaning to cover the additional buildup and the extra work required to return the home to maintenance condition.

Extended gaps in recurring service. Recurring rates assume the home is maintained on schedule. If more than 30 days pass between visits, whether from skipping a monthly clean or postponing several weekly or biweekly visits in a row, the next appointment may be re-quoted at deep clean pricing.

Cancellations on our end. Independent cleaning professionals have illnesses and emergencies as well. If your appointment has to be moved, you will be given as much notice as possible and offered the earliest available alternative. No one who has been exposed to a contagious illness will be sent to your home.

Automated appointment reminders go out 48 hours and 24 hours before each cleaning to help you avoid fees.

Estimates and Average Condition

Quotes for deep cleans, move in and move out cleans, and all first-time cleanings involve many variables. Because estimates are usually given by phone or online, they rely on your accurate description of the property.

Cleanings are priced at a flat rate for the scope quoted, not by the hour. Your price is based on the size and condition of the home as described at booking. If the property is not in the condition described, the quote may need to be revised before work begins. Undisclosed buildup will very likely increase the price.

Average Condition. Standard pricing and the cleaning checklist apply to properties in Average Condition. Average Condition does not include:

  • Heavy grease, soil, or neglect on appliances, surfaces, or floors
  • Heavily cluttered or disorganized spaces, such as floors covered in clothing or dozens of items on surfaces
  • Disposal of boxes, trash, food waste, or furniture
  • Biohazards, including black mold, lead, medical waste, sharps, or broken glass
  • Pathological waste, including human or animal feces, urine, or vomit
  • Pest or insect infestations
  • Hoarding conditions, or abandoned or condemned properties
  • Properties without running water or electricity
  • Homes still being actively moved into or out of, where belongings are being carried through during the appointment

Properties outside Average Condition may require a revised quote, a reduced scope of work, or may be declined. See “Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service” below.

Quotes are based on what we are told. Pricing varies with the actual square footage, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the condition of the home, the number of people and pets living there, and whether the home is furnished, empty, or mid-move. The more accurately the home is described at booking, the more likely the quoted price is the final price.

Price Adjustments on Arrival

If, on arrival, the property is clearly outside the condition described at booking, you will be contacted by phone or text before any work beyond the original scope begins. You will be given the choice to approve a revised flat rate, or to prioritize specific areas so the work fits the scope you already booked.

Nothing beyond your original quote is ever charged without your approval.

If you cannot be reached, the cleaning professional will complete the scope as originally quoted and finish for the day. You may contact the office to book the remaining work as a separate appointment. Results cannot be guaranteed in a property that needed work beyond the approved scope.

Scheduling and Arrival Windows

Appointments are scheduled using a two-hour arrival window rather than an exact start time, for example 8am to 10am or 12pm to 2pm. Home sizes, traffic, and same-day schedule changes make exact start times unreliable, and an honest window is better than a precise time that cannot be kept.

Your cleaning professional will contact you when they are on the way. If the window cannot be met, you will be notified as soon as possible with an updated arrival time.

Access. Please keep entry instructions current in your account, whether that is a door code, lockbox, key location, gate code, or plans to be home. If access details change, tell the office at least 24 hours before your appointment. See “Lockouts” above.

Alarms and gated communities. If your home has a security system, please disarm it or provide working instructions. You are responsible for any false alarm fees or municipal charges resulting from incorrect codes or instructions. For gated communities and buildings, please arrange entry clearance in advance.

Holidays. Appointments are not scheduled on the following days. If your recurring service falls on one, the office will contact you to reschedule:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Recurring Service Plans

  • Recurring rates are based on a consistent visit frequency, since a maintained home requires less work than one cleaned occasionally.
  • Recurring plans have no long-term contract. You may pause or cancel with notice, subject to the cancellation policy above.
  • Changing your frequency may change your rate. Contact the office and the plan will be re-quoted.
  • Recurring appointments are held in the same slot where possible, but the slot and assigned professional are not guaranteed. See “Service Provider Assignment” below.
  • Rates may be adjusted with at least 30 days’ notice.

How to Prepare for Your Cleaning

Your flat rate covers cleaning, not clearing. A few minutes of preparation makes a real difference in the result:

  • Clear surfaces. Please put away loose papers, toys, mail, and anything else covering countertops, tabletops, and floors. Covered surfaces cannot be cleaned and will be worked around.
  • Dishes. Please empty the sink before the appointment. If a sink full of dishes has to be cleared first, an additional $25 may be added to your rate.
  • Heavy items. For safety and insurance reasons, furniture and appliances over 30 lbs are not moved, and ladders taller than a three-step ladder are not used. If you want cleaning under or behind something heavy, please move it beforehand.
  • Linens. If you would like beds changed, please clear them and leave fresh sheets out.
  • Pets. Please let us know about pets and where they will be during the appointment. If there is pet urine in a room, cleaning equipment will not be used in that area.
  • Valuables. Please store items of high monetary or sentimental value in a secure location before the appointment.
  • Surfaces. All surfaces, including wood, stone, and marble, are assumed to be properly sealed and safe for standard cleaning products. If a specific product is required for a particular surface, please say so in advance and leave it out.

Nothing else needs to be supplied. Cleaning professionals bring their own equipment and products.

Working in Your Home

  • Space to work. Cords, buckets, and cleaning products are in use throughout the home. For everyone’s safety, please give the cleaning professional room to work, including children, pets, and other adults. If distractions significantly interfere with the cleaning, the scope may need to be reduced or the visit re-quoted.
  • Utilities and comfort. Please have water, electricity, and reasonable climate control available. Cleaning in extreme heat without air conditioning may need to be rescheduled.
  • Smoking and substances. Cleaning professionals may decline to work in a home where smoking is occurring during the appointment.
  • Safety. If a cleaning professional feels unsafe due to a person, guest, or animal in the home, they may leave immediately, and the full cost of the service will be charged.
  • Illegal activity. If illegal activity is encountered, the cleaning professional may leave immediately, the full service cost will be charged, and the activity may be reported to law enforcement.

Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

For health, safety, and liability reasons, service may be declined or stopped at any time, including on arrival, for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Conditions outside Average Condition as defined above
  • Biohazards, pathological waste, or infestations
  • Weapons present and unsecured in the work area
  • Severe clutter or hoarding conditions
  • Disconnected water or electricity
  • Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct toward a cleaning professional
  • Any situation a cleaning professional reasonably considers unsafe or inappropriate

If service is declined on arrival for any of these reasons, the same-day cancellation fee applies.

Honeycomb Home Cleaning also reserves the right to discontinue service for any client at any time. Written notice will be provided by text message or email.

Services Not Provided

The following are outside the scope of any Honeycomb booking:

  • Wet cleaning of light bulbs or electrical fixtures
  • Refinishing, waxing, or resurfacing floors
  • Upholstery, drapery, or carpet shampooing
  • Exterior windows above ground level
  • Removal of biohazards, mold remediation, or pest control
  • Moving large furniture or appliances
  • Large-scale trash, debris, or furniture disposal
  • Climbing beyond a three-step ladder
  • Childcare, pet care, or laundry unless arranged in advance as an add-on

Areas that cannot be properly cleaned due to extreme clutter, biohazards, or inaccessibility may be skipped.

Changes to Your Service

Any change to the scope of a scheduled service must be arranged through the office in advance. Cleaning professionals are not authorized to agree to added services, price changes, or scope changes on site, and clients should not request changes directly from them.

Whenever possible, please request changes before 5pm the day before your scheduled cleaning.

Service Provider Assignment

Honeycomb schedules appointments based on availability, service area, and the requirements of the booking. The independent cleaning professional assigned to your appointment may change from visit to visit, including for recurring service. Reasonable efforts will be made to give advance notice when the assignment changes.

Requests for a specific professional will be accommodated where scheduling allows, but cannot be guaranteed.

Independent Cleaning Professionals

Cleaning services booked through Honeycomb Home Cleaning are performed by independent cleaning professionals operating their own cleaning businesses. They are not employees of Honeycomb Home Cleaning.

Each independent cleaning professional controls the manner and means of their own work, including the methods, products, and equipment they use and the order in which they work. Honeycomb sets the terms of the booking, communicates client requirements and scope, handles scheduling and billing, and addresses client concerns.

Honeycomb requires that the professionals it works with maintain their own business licensing and liability coverage as applicable, and are vetted and background checked before receiving referrals.

Non-Solicitation

Independent cleaning professionals are recruited, screened, background checked, insured, scheduled, and supported at significant cost to Honeycomb Home Cleaning.

You agree not to directly hire, contract, or engage any cleaning professional, staff member, or representative introduced to you through Honeycomb, whether directly or through another company, during your time as a client and for [24] months following your last service.

If this provision is breached, you agree to pay Honeycomb Home Cleaning $[AMOUNT] as a reasonable estimate of the recruiting, screening, and lost revenue costs incurred. Honeycomb also reserves the right to discontinue service immediately, with no refund, and to pursue any other remedy available under law.

Breakage, Loss, and Liability

Accidents are rare, but they happen. If an item is damaged during a service:

  • Report it to the office within 24 hours of the appointment, with photos where possible.
  • Coverage is up to $100 per item, or the verifiable replacement value, whichever is less.
  • No liability is accepted for items that were not hung or mounted securely, items on unstable bases, items already damaged or worn, or items of extreme sentimental value.
  • Blinds are dry dusted only. No liability is accepted for slats or strings that break due to age, brittleness, or improper installation.
  • No liability is accepted for damage caused by pre-existing wear and tear, improper installation or assembly, or prior misuse.
  • If you request that your own vacuum or equipment be used, no liability is accepted for damage to it. If it is not in working order on arrival, vacuuming may not be possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability arising out of any service is limited to the amount paid for that service, except where the law provides otherwise.

Our Guarantee

If anything was missed or not completed to your standard, contact the office at (661) 669-7538 or team@honeycombhomecleaning.com within 24 hours of your service, and a return visit to re-clean the areas of concern will be arranged at no cost to you.

Photos of the areas in question help resolve things faster. Concerns raised more than 24 hours after service fall outside the guarantee window and may not be covered.

Complaints and Concerns

All service concerns should be directed to the office by phone, text, or email rather than to the cleaning professional directly. This keeps a record, keeps resolution consistent, and is the only way a guarantee visit can be scheduled.

Introductory Offers

Introductory promotions are available to new clients who schedule a recurring cleaning plan. If the recurring service is canceled before the first recurring cleaning takes place, the discount is removed and the difference between the promotional rate and the standard rate will be charged.

Prepay & Save Program

  • Discounts: 3 months (4%), 6 months (7%), or 12 months (11%, with rate lock)
  • Non-refundable: Prepayments are non-refundable. If service is canceled, the remaining balance stays on your account as a credit.
  • Rate lock: 12-month prepayments lock your rate for the term, provided the scope of work does not change.

Photos

Before and after photos are sometimes taken for quality control and training purposes. Photos are never published or used in marketing without your written permission, and any photo used will exclude identifying details. You may opt out at any time by telling the office.

Communications and Text Messages

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive service-related calls and text messages from Honeycomb Home Cleaning, including appointment confirmations, reminders, arrival notifications, and billing notices.

You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. Opting out may limit our ability to notify you of schedule changes.

Appointment reminders are also sent by email. Please add team@honeycombhomecleaning.com to your contacts so reminders do not land in spam.
